Why should I take this course?

If you’re already an experienced grower and want to add Aquaponics or space-efficient Aeroponics to your system, this is the bundle for you. We go over these two technologies, with build instructions and plenty of options to suit your individual needs. This bundle is a great option for people who are already very comfortable with the many aspects of growing their own food, particularly with hydroponics, but want to grow with aqua- or aeroponics.
What is Aquaponics?
Aquaponics is the practice of growing plants and fish together in a stable and efficient soil-less system. Once established, aquaponics systems are low maintenance and extremely efficient. An excellent option for both home and commercial growers.

What is Aeroponics?
Aeroponics is more high maintenance, but extremely space-efficient and productive. It is the practice of growing plants using a nutrient-dense water mist. These systems use significantly less water than any other hydroponic method, and almost none compared to conventional agriculture. They are a great option for small-space growers and anyone needing to limit their water use.

Samantha Hughes

Samantha Hughes grew up in Central Virginia, surrounded by farmland. Through school and her parents' encouragement, she became fascinated by the natural sciences. In college she studied environmental science, where she was introduced to sustainable agriculture for the first time. Since that time she has developed her knowledge, studying permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and hydroponics. She has worked on farms from New Jersey to North Carolina, and taken in person workshops to deepen her understanding of these important subjects. She founded Cultiverdant, and the Hooked On Ponics Academy in 2020 to provide educational access to anyone, anywhere you can access the internet. She lives in Maine with her husband, daughter, and their two dogs.
